First steps

Last night, as Erik and I were trying to wear Kayleigh out and get her ready for bed, we were passing her back and forth between the two of us. We were only about 5 paces apart, but after a few rounds, Kayleigh started to try to do it on her own. We were so excited! She could only take about a step and a half or maybe two steps before she would fall down, but it was still impressive! We must have worn her out pretty good, too, because she slept until 7:45 this morning! Yippee!!!

"Runners, take your mark, get set, GO!!!"
Try those words, and I bet she will show you both what she can do. She has her daddy's legs (the length anyway), so she will probably run once she gets her balance.
Then again, she is a Priddy
penguin, so...who knows?

Do you have the gate for the bottom of the stairs yet? She'll be off and running before you know it. Can you train Ginger and Tracy to keep her away from the steps?

You all better get ready! There's no stopping her now. How exciting. YOu will be amazed at how soon she will start taking more and more steps on her own.

Yes, mom, we now have a gate at the bottom of the steps! Kayleigh is NOT happy about it, but we still let her go up the steps when we're behind her--not across the house!!

Aw! Your days of relaxation are now over. You'll officially be on your toes from now on! Lincoln was walking just days after he was doing what you just described with Kayleigh. What an exciting new milestone for you guys. =)
